My goals included: tracking my calories, not drinking soda, and finding time to work out.
For the past month I have been tracking calories using my fitness pal. I like my fitness pal because its free and most of the food I eat happens to be easy to find. It also allows you to put in recipes and since a lot cookbooks don't include nutrition facts, this is also awesome. So far I have dropped about 4-5 pounds. I have cut a lot of carbs from my diet. When making dinner, I've been some type of protein and lots of veggies. This still leaves me feeling full. I also bought the cooking light magazine in which all of the dishes are under 300 calories, I definitely recommend it. Everything I have made from there so far Brad and I have really enjoyed.
Drinking lots of water has been easy but avoiding soda not so much. I had soda this past weekend and I do feel a little guilty. There are so many studies on how bad soda is for you. Even still, it has been hard. I am hoping to report more success in my next post :)
My schedule at work has changed, this is making it a little hard to work out. I'm working 4 ten hour days, on the days I don't work getting in a workout is easy. I've been doing pilates for about 20 minutes on my days off. On days I work, I am gone for about 11 hours and by the time I get home its after 6. I am going to try and wake up 10 minutes earier to get some pilates in. The videos I have ten minute work outs which I think I could do, so long as I am awake enough to do them.
I'm hoping to keep posting on Mondays, my day off. I am also hoping as soon as Jess gets settled after moving she can start blogging too! Feel free to find me on my fitness pal, username sunycaro.

Update
Apparently the holidays are not a good time to start a weight loss blog.
That being said, I suppose there is never a good time to start weight loss. Things always come up that give you a reason to start another day or week or month. I also fell victim to this. It is hard to admit, when you are using an excuse and that it was happened.
Jess is currently in the midst of selling her home and making moves. I know she wants to start blogging, but a major life event does often put off blogging - unlike me who really doesn't have any good reasons. Once Jess moves and gets some order back in her life, I'm sure she will be back at!
Something very exciting happened on April 19th - Brad asked me to marry him and I (of course) said yes :) We are so excited! Since then, I have realized I really need to start focusing on eating better and getting into shape for the wedding. This has not been easy, but Brad has been supportive and I plan on blogging about it.
I hope you'll check back in and start working out with me to get wedding dress ready! Thanks again for your support and keep an eye out for some new posts.
